Winchester Election practice

Practice for the Winchester Election papers

The seven scholarship papers, from Mathematics II to General Paper II, at Election standard, with timed mock papers and written answers marked against a mark scheme.

Election is Winchester College's academic scholarship exam. Alongside the compulsory papers, which are the same as at Entrance (English, Mathematics I and Science), candidates sit Election papers chosen from A1 Latin, A2 French, A3 Greek, A4 History, A5 Geography, A6 Mathematics II and A7 General Paper II.

The College publishes specimen Election papers on its academic scholarships page. Our practice is written to that standard, using the published papers as a guide but never copying them. For the compulsory papers, use Winchester Entrance practice.

Practice by topic

Choose a subject and the topics to work on, then 10, 20 or 30 questions. Each answer is marked straight away, with the right answer and an explanation, and your weakest topic is suggested next.

Timed mock papers

A full paper in the real format, against the clock. No feedback until it's handed in; then every answer is marked and explained, with marks by section and topic.

Written answers marked

Longer answers are marked against a mark scheme, with feedback on what earned marks and how to improve. If marking isn't available, you mark it yourself against the model answer.

1 credit buys one practice session in a subject or one full mock paper. Credits are shared across every OnlinePrep product: a single credit is £3.99, less each in larger packs, and packs last 12 months. See pricing

Is this affiliated with Winchester College?
No. OnlinePrep is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Winchester College. The questions are our own, written in the style of the published papers.
Where are English, Mathematics I and Science?
Those papers are shared with Entrance, so they're in Winchester Entrance practice. Mathematics II is the Election paper.
What does one credit buy?
One practice session (10, 20 or 30 questions in one subject) or one full timed mock paper. See pricing.
How are essays and translations marked?
By AI against the mark scheme for the question. Essays are marked for argument, evidence and a justified conclusion, not for agreeing with one view. If marking isn't available at that moment, you mark it yourself against the marking points and model answer.
